The Mitchell County Sheriff’s Department protects citizens through crime investigation and prevention.

Mitchell County Sheriff’s Department Conflict of Interest Policy
- PROVIDING SERVICES TO THE COUNTY
If an employee is a partner, stockholder, employee, manager, or has a member of their immediate family in a business that sells products or provides services to the County or has access to County information that may be used for private gain, the employee shall advise the Office of their interest in the business. This shall be completed in the form of an office memo. An office official will determine if a conflict of interest exists, and if so, will advise the employee and his or her supervisor. - COMPLIANCE
The employee shall not do department business with or direct department business with a business by which the employee or member, his or her immediate family is an employee, partner, stockholder or manager. Failure to comply with these provisions is grounds for termination.

Applying for Handgun Permits in Mitchell County
The Mitchell County Sheriff’s Department provides the following links for forms required for requesting a concealed gun carry permit, a renewal of an issued permit, and the associated documents that must be completed and filed. Please note that some documents must be notarized. If this is not completed properly, approval of the permit may be delayed.
