Altapass Convenience Center Re-Opens After Fire

Photo of the Altapass Convenience Center near Spruce Pine, North Carolina The Altapass Convenience Center in Spruce Pine will re-open to accept household garbage items as of noon on Tuesday, August 29, and will be back on schedule to take items on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Please note that the Altapass location will not be open Wednesday, August 30, which is a regularly-scheduled close day. It will resume regular operation on Thursday, August 31st.

We will provide additional information about Center operations in the coming days as assessments on damage to the baler and recycling operations at Altapass is continuing.
