Altapass Convenience Center Closed Due to Fire

The Altapass Convenience Center will be closed until further notice due to a fire that occurred in the cardboard bundling area around 7:45 p.m. Monday night. It was contained by 9:00 p.m. The cause of the fire is undetermined. Mitchell County Government would like to thank the Parkway Fire Department, Spruce Pine Fire Department, Bakersville Fire Department , and Green Valley Fire Department for their prompt response for their efforts battling the blaze.
