Department Overview

Mitchell County Communications receives and processes calls for assistance from citizens, workers, and visitors in Mitchell County whether routine or emergency. We assist in the protection of life and property.

A New 911 Communications Center

Architect’s Rendition of the new 911 Center

Work is underway to construct a new 911 Emergency Communications Center for Mitchell County. The 5,000 square foot, $3 million dollar facility will not only serve Mitchell County citizens, it will be a back-up for neighboring counties to use if their 911 facilities were evacuated or systems went down. Mitchell County has received a grant and an extension to construct the facility, which will be located on the access road to the new Courthouse.
